WHAT'S HAPPENING AT SOTA?

SOTA LightWorks Pad Update

SOTA LightWorks Pad
Unfortunately, Health Canada has denied entry of the LightWorks Pad into Canada because they deem it to be a Medical Device without Medical Device licensing.

Here’s the thing — 19 years ago, with pressure from Health Canada, we applied for and obtained Medical Device Licenses for our products. 16 years ago after working with Health Canada, an agreement was put into place approving our products as Consumer Products, which by definition do not need Medical Device licensing. We have always followed the terms of the agreement, as has Health Canada … until now.

We have forwarded to Health Canada the evidence showing our agreement that our products are Consumer Products. Health Canada contacted us late last week to inform us that our file will be reviewed early next week, so we expect to hear their response mid-week.

We are exploring all strategies to get the LightWorks Pad cleared so we can get the product out our door into your hands. SOTA has consistently stood for personal freedom and the ability of individuals to make their own informed decisions.

We promise to keep you informed as the story unfolds. For current updates, we are posting to our Facebook page.

Thank you for your patience & understanding.

New Beginnings

We thought we'd share the transformation our new SOTA home has undergone these past five years. The building was originally the home of a glass company in the early 1970's – bonus for us as it has a lot of windows!

SOTA Before and After

With an eye to preserving the history and integrity of the building (including legends of a ghost!), being 'green' and energy-efficient, and most of all, providing a positive and supportive environment for our workplace, this has been a labor of love for SOTA.

It has been a wonderful journey with a lot of help from many people.

Ellis on the Rise

SOTA staff participated in an annual block party ... Ellis on the Rise.

Spoiler Alert: We were assigned to the cupcake table. Imagine us, a Wellness company handing out cupcakes! Well, we all put a lot of love into serving those cupcakes, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience of reaching out to the community.

Ellis on the Rise

If you look closely at one of the pictures in the news article linked below, you will see the new SOTA building that we have moved into at 101-161 Ellis St.

SOTA PRODUCT TIPS

Washing Fruits & Veggies with Ozonated Water

Produce Basket
Can the Water Ozonator be used to ozonate food, like fruits and vegetables?

Yes! Ozonating fruits and vegetables with the Water Ozonator is very similar to ozonating drinking water. Just immerse them in cold water and ozonate for about 15 minutes or so. The colder the water the better, as more ozone can saturate the water.

It's also possible to ozonate poultry, fish or other meats. Again, simply soak the meat in a sink of cold water and ozonate for 15 minutes or more.

If you choose to use your Water Ozonator for these purposes be sure to have one Airstone & Tubing just for drinking water, and a separate Airstone & Tubing for fruits and vegetables and again, for meats.

Which Mode to Use with Your Magnetic Pulser

Using Magnetic Pulser
Wondering which mode to use on your Magnetic Pulser?

With the Magnetic Pulser Model MP6, customers have a choice between two modes for pulsing.

We've learned it pretty much comes down to WHY you are using the unit. We've addressed this question in our online Frequently Asked Questions here but in a nutshell, here's what we've found:

The Regular Mode outputs a higher intensity magnetic field that reaches up to 9 inches. The trade-off is it takes approximately 5-7 seconds for each pulse to be delivered.

The Fast Mode is preferable for applications not needing as much strength. The magnetic field is less intense (a little less than 1/2 the strength of Regular Mode) and can be measured up to 7 inches. With this mode the pulses are delivered very quickly at approximately one pulse per second.

Ultimately – you may want to give both modes a try to see which you prefer. You may find, depending on the circumstance, one mode is a better choice than the other, and that your preference changes over time, as well.

How to Get Started with the SOTA Products

SOTA Products

Whether you're new to SOTA with your first unit or you're integrating an additional SOTA unit into your Wellness Plan, it's natural to wonder what's the best way to get started? There's no particular recipe – but over the years we've learned from our customers – the keys are tuning in to your body and planning for regular, consistent use.

While the SOTA units are designed to be used independently, they can also be used together as part of an overall Wellness Lifestyle. When beginning, some individuals find it easier to introduce one unit at a time – allowing the body to adjust before introducing the next unit. Others start all the units at the same time.

In general, when starting off, gradually increase the amount of time you use the unit(s) day by day. As with all Wellness Tools, pay attention to what works for you. The "just right" pace is different for each individual – listen to your body, respect what it's telling you, and make adjustments if you need to. The point is not to feel rushed.

Each individual is unique. Some may be able to hit the ground running – and some may need to take a more gentle approach. Either way, it's okay. This isn't a "one-size fits all" situation. A Wellness Lifestyle isn't a race – it's a journey we choose for ourselves each day.

Supporting KIVA

KIVA Loans
At SOTA, we believe it is important to serve ... to think beyond ourselves.

As a company, we donate as part of our service commitment. Our team chooses from both local community organizations and international groups for our donations.

Since January 2012, we have donated to Kiva. As a non-profit crowdfunding system, Kiva's mission is to expand financial access to help underserved communities thrive. Kiva distributes microloans of $25 or more to individuals in 80 countries throughout the world. Through their work, students can pay for tuition, women can start businesses, farmers are able to invest in equipment and families can afford needed emergency care. 100% of every dollar you lend to Kiva goes to funding loans! By contributing, we empower individuals in developing countries to create opportunity for themselves and others.

With an impressive 96.7% repayment rate, this means that once a loan is repaid it can be loaned out again and again and again.
