1. Do I need to have the Bio Tuner on high in order for it to work best?
The unit does not need to be turned up to maximum. Turn the intensity switch only until the current can be felt. It is best that the level of intensity be comfortable. With repeated use, the buzzing sensation may not be felt as much.
2. What can be done to reduce skin irritation on the ear lobes?
A few individuals may experience skin irritation when using the Bio Tuner.

Here are some suggestions to reduce irritation:
Ensure the Ear Clip Rubber Electrodes are fully conductive. You can check this by touching the Rubber Electrodes together. Turn the intensity dial to full in Mode 1.

If the Yellow Light comes on brightly, the Electrodes are fully conductive. If not, the Ear Clip Rubber Electrodes should be replaced. Electrodes that are not fully conductive may deliver a prickly feeling contributing to irritation.
Wash ear lobes before applying the Electrodes. Our skin has natural oils that can interact with the electricity which may result in a "stinging" sensation.
Wet the Ear Clip Rubber Electrodes with water before each session, or
Use conductive gel to wet the Ear Clip Rubber Electrodes before each session, or
Use a small square of soft cotton fabric, such as flannel, and place it over the Ear Clip Rubber Electrode, fastening it with a small elastic band or twist tie. Moisten the cotton with water or a little salt water before each session.
Turn down the intensity.
Wash ear lobes after each session and apply a healing gel or lotion such as aloe vera, vitamin E oil or MSM cream.
3. What are the six Modes for?
The Bio Tuner offers six different Modes. Mode 1 is the main Mode – this Mode has been featured on all earlier Bio Tuner Models. The physicist who invented the unit, recommended varying the Modes with longer term use, as your body can become acclimatized if only one Mode is used. He also suggested the Earth or Schumann frequency in Modes 3 and 6 may enhance meditation and consciousness.

The choice of Modes also allows you to try different Modes for comfort. You may find some Modes are more comfortable than others. You can experiment to discover what works best for you.

In all Modes, the base frequency of 1,000 Hz pulse-modulated by 111.11 Hz is present. Modes 4, 5, and 6 may have a more gentle feel as the intensity of these Modes is approximately ½ that of Modes 1, 2 and 3.

One Mode is not considered more beneficial than another.
4. Is it okay to use the Bio Tuner on animals?
We don’t know. We have no feedback about the Bio Tuner being used on animals nor have we tried it on our own pets. We do not know enough about the differences between humans and animals to be able to form an opinion on whether it would be safe or not. At this time, we do not recommend using the Bio Tuner on animals.
5. I’ve heard electricity can be harmful. Why is the Bio Tuner beneficial?
There is a difference between harmful and beneficial electric current. Microcurrent, pulsed magnetic field and frequency units are designed to feed the body safe levels of electricity. The SOTA units are all designed to stimulate and work with the body’s natural electricity.

On the other hand, high voltage transformers and power lines delivering electricity to our homes to run our household appliances and the wireless technology used by cell phones can have harmful effects.

The SOTA units have all passed testing to gain CE certification. This is a European standard that indicates an electronic unit conforms to essential safety requirements to operate as a household consumer product.
6. How long should the battery last?
The SOTA Bio Tuner has been designed to ensure the maximum life of a battery. Battery life depends on how high you need the output and the type of battery used. We recommend a 9-Volt Alkaline battery as they usually last between 12–20 hours.

It is important to use 9-Volt Alkaline batteries. Batteries that are marked “Heavy Duty” or “Extra Duty” are designed for slow drain items and will not work as efficiently with the Bio Tuner.

Rechargeable 9-Volt batteries are also an option for powering the Bio Tuner. Be careful, though – not all rechargeable batteries are the same size. The only way to be certain the battery will fit in the enclosure properly is to try it with your Bio Tuner.
7. Where is the Bio Tuner manufactured?
The manufacturing of the SOTA Products is a global collaboration. The following countries participate in the making of the Bio Tuner (listed in alphabetical order): Canada, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Morocco, Thailand and Taiwan. Our units say Made in China because China is the last step in the assembly of the units.

We are grateful that the people in all of these countries help us to produce quality products at reasonable prices for our customers.
